MIME COSMETICS was founded by a woman who adores makeup for its transformative power and the confidence it can give to women. She experienced the full spectrum of makeup—from high-coverage foundations, contouring, baking, and full makeup looks on a daily basis, to barely wearing any makeup at all. But why the change?
MIME COSMETICS drew inspiration from the origins of makeup in ancient Greece and Rome. They strived to achieve a more "natural" look. Women wore light touches of colour on their cheeks and lips, created by mixing plants or fruits with lead-based dyes. They also wore light powder foundations, at times, but mostly made sure their natural skin was flawless by using honey and olive oil in their various skincare products.
After working in the cosmetics industry for years and trying nearly every brand on the market—both skincare and makeup—she discovered a profound truth: true beauty starts with healthy skin. That's when MIME COSMETICS was born. Our philosophy is simple: feeling beautiful often begins with a holiday tan and glow, that ''healthy look''. Our first product reflects this philosophy: a lightweight, low-coverage formula that creates a beautiful makeup look with a Tan and Glow, while maintaining healthy skin. It's all you need for a natural, everyday makeup routine. All future products we produce will align with this makeup look and philosophy.
Driven by a passion for skincare and her personal experience with Rosacea, she devoured countless skin therapy books. This self-taught knowledge helped her understand the importance of recognizing good versus bad ingredients to maintain beautiful, healthy skin including being mindful of the amount of makeup we use on a daily basis.
